Black Perl Morado By La Perla Habna Belicosos (Rubusto 5 x 52)

· Wrapper – Indonesian

· Binder –

· Filler – Long (Honduras, Nicaragua, Dominican

My First Impression:

What a strange name and what and even stranger cigar band (who is that white chick). At first glance you may mistaken this cigar for some cheap off brand – BUT DON’T! This is a serious smoke and an even serious contender in the knock your socks off power packed cigar category. When you first put the Black Perl in your mit you will notice the dark Indonesian wrapper – it is a little ruff and not all that impressive. The cap is a traditional Dominican style and can be easily bitten off. She sparked up very easily and held her burn and ash for longer than expected – never needed to be re-lighted. The cigar started out smooth and strong – but with a better draw and taste than was expected. However as the smoke went on she really took on a life of her own and kicked my butt. I am not sure if it was the all day yard work in the 80 degree South Carolina sun or the 105 degree hot tub, but my head was spinning! This little sucker was strong and it has been a long time since I felt I needed to slow my puff puff.

· Where I smoked? Hottub (back yard)

· What I drank? Water

Recommendation:

If you are looking for a strong Rubusto for under two buck this is your cigar – Crazy Deal. Right now Cigar International is selling this gems for (10-packs for 20 bucks). I recommend buying them and handing them out to your friends and see what their reaction is. Honestly for 2 buck a stick we can smoke them to your lips fall off, but the questions is can your head and your stomach handle it?

The Pro’s Comments:

This cigar delivers a creamy, medium-bodied smoke that's loaded with flavor. Each cigar burns slow and true, yielding a rich, but mellow bouquet of complex flavors including earth, cedar, and spice topped off by a semi-sweet finish. Well-made and satisfying throughout every inch – 93 Rating

  1. I agree that it looks like a cheap off brand but I will definitely take your advice and check it out. I'm definitely looking for a cheap good cigar to stock up on for the guys and it not be crappy. Both cigars in this blog looks like they might fit the bill.
